DESCRIPTION:THE MENTOR-COHORT CLASS OF ’25-’26\nNOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR FELLOWS & SENIOR FELLOWS\n\nWhat is the NVSBC's Mentor-Cohort Program?\nThe National Veteran Small Business Coalition (NVSBC) Mentor-Cohort (MC) program is designed to deliver a tailored curriculum on procurement\, business readiness\, and finance to local cohorts who experience barriers to entry in the federal government contracting space. \nThe MC program is FREE for participants and geographically focused that provides in-person and virtual training and engagement activities that will nurture and advance a healthy business ecosystem. \nThis program is 9 months in duration\, grant funded\, and outcome based. NVSBC collects data from participants at various points throughout the program to ensure effectiveness and to share updates with funders. This information is kept private and shared in the aggregate with those who financially back this program. \nHow do I apply to be considered for the MC Program?\nTo be considered for the MC program as either a Fellow (Mentee) or Senior Fellow (Mentor) please complete the intake form. The link for the intake form is found here: Mentor-Cohort Class ’25-’26 \nImportant Dates – MC Program Class of ’25-’26 \n\nApplication Submissions Open: May 1\, 2025\nApplication Submissions Close: June 30\, 2025\nFellow Selections Made and Announced: August 2025\n\nWhere are the Regional Cohorts Located?\nThe regional cohorts are in the following NVSBC’s Communities of Interest: \n\nColorado Springs\, CO\nDayton\, OH\nDC Metro Area (DMV)\nHampton Roads\, VA\nHuntsville\, AL\nPhiladelphia\, PA\nSan Antonio\, TX\nSan Diego\, CA\nTampa\, FL\n\nWithin these communities the NVSBC works with local leaders\, community partners\, and subject matter experts to bring the GovCon ecosystem together for camaraderie\, training and networking opportunities. \nQualifications of a Fellow (Mentee) Company\nMust: \n\nhave an established business\nbe registered in SAM.gov\nbe either/or VOSB or SDVOSB\nbe SBA certified and verified as either a VOSB or SDVSOB\nparticipate in NVSBC networking events\, once onboarded into the mentor-cohort program\n\nMay:\n\nhave zero (0) Federal or Large Prime contracts\nbe longer than one (1) year since receiving Federal or Large Prime contracts\nhave $100k or less federal annual revenue\nexperience barriers in the GovCon sector\n\nQualifications for a Senior Fellow (Mentor) Company\nIdentified and selected from the NVSBC network of GovCon experts and highly successful VOSB and SDVOSB owners.  Senior Fellows are recommended to Fellow business owners by the NVSBC staff allowing for personal introductions and the NVSBC “personal touch”. \nTo be Considered for the Role of Senior Fellow:  You must ... \n\n\nbe interested in being a mentor.\n\n\nhave time to devote to being a mentor.\n\n\nhave a company that is established and is currently receiving Federal Contracts or Large Prime Contracts in the Federal GovCon arena.\n\n\nhave a company that is registered in SAM.gov.\n\n\nA Primary Senior Fellow company may have no more than 3 Fellow companies. \nA SME Senior Fellow company or individual; may have numerous Fellows; dependent upon the subject / topic of assistance. \n\n\nThis Mentor-Cohort Program is proudly sponsored by:

DESCRIPTION:Office of Business Opportunity\nInteragency Mentor Protege Program\n\nThe City of Houston\, Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County\, Houston Independent School District\, Port Houston\, Houston Community College\, and Harris Health System has teamed together for the Interagency Mentor Protégé Program (IMPP).  IMPP exists to strengthen effective working relationships and fosters long term stability between established companies and local agencies with emerging historically underutilized businesses. The goals of IMPP is to enhance the business skills and broaden the base of historically underutilized businesses by providing the knowledge and experience of established firms. \nBenefits for participating in IMPP include but not limited to: \n\nUnderstanding your business financials and bidding\nCreate and strengthen working relationships between established and emerging companies\nUnderstanding of how to do business with local government agencies\nTechnical Assistance in specific areas for protégés\n\nProgram Requirements \n\nCurrently certified with a current registration as a Small\, Women-owned\, Veteran-owned\, Minority-owned or Disadvantaged Business Enterprise with any or all of the partnering agencies: City of Houston\, METRO\, Port Houston\, HISD\, HCC\, or Harris Health System.\nBusiness in continuous operation for at the last 24 months\nAnnual business revenue average between $150\,000 and $4.0 million in the past three years\nBusiness with a minimum of four employees\nMust be able to commit to nine workshops\nMust be able to identify the type of guidance needed for development\nNote: You may be asked to submit documents to verify or add to information on your application.  Failure to submit verifying documents could result in the disqualification of your application.\n\nProgram Details \nProgram Length: 10 Weeks\nClass Time: 6:00-8:00PM Every Tuesday\nLocation: Hybrid\nApplications Accepted: March 3 to 31\, 2025\nProgram Start Date: May 7\, 2025
